According to truth.com, in 2000 49% of middle school aged kids wanted to quit smoking. Younger smokers tend to try to quit before older smokers do, and it usually takes 9-11 times to fully stop smoking. But, don't let that deter you! If you want to stop smoking there are plenty of methods and tips to help you fully quit.

Set a quit date
-Goals can become more reachable when you can see the calendar date.
Tell friends, family, and teachers that you want to quit
-That way, all the pressure to stop smoking won't have to fall on you! They can also be a great support group while you're trying to stop, and you may convince other friends and family members to quit too.
Anticipate and plan for challenges you'll face while trying to quit
-Do you have friendships solely based on smoking? Do certain actions and settings make you crave smoking?
Remove cigarettes and other tobacco products from your home, car and work
-How can you quit without doing this? It will only make it harder to keep quitting.
Talk to you doctor about getting help to quit
-Let's change this one so it's more applicable to you, talk to you teachers, your counselors, your school nurse, anyone who you know can help you learn how to quit. It will totally pay off in the end.
